What is the State Board of Education?

In a nutshell, the Ohio State Board of Education is a 19-member board that creates policy and makes recommendations for K-12 education in Ohio.  Eleven of the members are elected while eight are appointed by the Governor.  Pat is running in District 4 which is made up of Hamilton and Warren Counties.  Here are some more details on the Board of Education:
